Eileen Francis Luisi, age 82, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center from complications of dementia. She was surrounded by her sons who held her hand as she joined her husband in heaven.  Born and raised in New York City with her two brothers and sister, she graduated from St Jean Baptist High School of New York in 1957 with straight As.  She married the love of her life, Robert Luisi in 1960 and gave birth to her two sons shortly thereafter. In 1986 she graduated from Mercer County community college with an applied science decree, and became a registered nurse, caring for people throughout the greater Trenton NJ area. She loved to cook and made the best Irish and Italian meals and oh those killer chocolate chip cookies. Sunday family meals and holidays were her favorites.  She enjoyed ballroom dancing, Operas, plays, cruises, swimming, wildwood vacations, singing happy birthday on her piano, and a nice glass of wine with our dad next to her by the fire place. She was a caring mom who provided love and encouragement to her sons throughout her life. She loved her role as “Nana Banana” and embraced her grandsons with open arms when they joined the family.  She was their biggest cheerleader and loved having sleepovers with them.  We were all so lucky to have her and our dad

Eileen was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Brennan and her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Luisi. Surviving are her children, Robert Luisi and his wife, Rosemary, Thomas Luisi; her brothers Thomas and Lawrence Brennan; sister, Joan Dougherty; and cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Alexander Luisi.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 8th 2022 from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 9th 2022 9:30 am at St. Mark’s Church, 215 Crescent Pkwy., Sea Girt, NJ. Entombment will follow Ocean County Memorial Park.
