Obituary for Eileen Ann Naclerio (Behrens)

Eileen Ann Naclerio, 93, a deeply loved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in South Ozone Park, NY, Eileen was the youngest of five sisters. She married her husband, Harold Naclerio, in 1954, and they moved to Tinton Falls, NJ where they would reside for the next 40 years and raise a beautiful family. Eileen then became a resident at the Surrey Downs Adult Community in Howell, NJ for 22 years until she moved to Wellington Estates in Spring Lake, NJ in 2017.

Eileen was a Communicant of the Church of St. Leo the Great in Lincroft, NJ, where she and her husband were members and volunteers for the 40 years they lived in Tinton Falls. Upon moving to Howell, she became involved at the St. Catherine of Sienna Church. Though she had several jobs throughout the years, Eileen spent 16 of her working years as a secretary at Fort Monmouth.

Eileen always had a sharp mind and a witty sense of humor. She never failed to put others first, and loved nothing more than spending time with her family and close friends. She was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching Yankees and Mets baseball (whichever team was doing better) and New York Giants football. Aside from being a wonderful cook, Eileen was a master of trivia. She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy, doing crossword puzzles, and ceramics.

Eileen was a very loving and devoted wife, an extremely selfless mother to five children, and an adoring grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Mary (nee Cunningham) Behrens, her husband Harold Naclerio in 1994, her son Harold Naclerio Jr. in 2003, and her four sisters. She will be deeply missed by her children Nancy Dunn and husband Jim (Wall), Tom Naclerio (Point Pleasant), Judy Kephart and husband Craig (Flemington), and Carol Long and husband Jim (Eatontown), as well as by her grandchildren, Stefanie, Dana, Matt, Jaclyn, Alli, Jenni, and Jeff.

Eileen will be most remembered for her heart of gold, and for her ability to bring a smile to the faces of close family, dear friends, and perfect strangers. She will always be in the hearts of her loved ones and will be missed tremendously.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. The funeral will be a privately held family service at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.

The family wishes to thank the many people who have reached out to express condolences. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall.
