Obituary for Frank Thomas Ruggiero

Frank Thomas Ruggiero was born on March 13, 1936 and passed away on August 21, 2020 at Meridian Nursing & Rehab., Brick. The only son born to Constantine “Frank” and Susie Ruggiero in Norwood, Massachusetts. He was raised in Linden, New Jersey and graduated from Linden High School in 1953. Frank played center for the high school football team and was active in Student Government. He held the offices of President of his homeroom and Senior class Treasurer and spent two years on Student Council. He served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1954 until 1957 and after leaving the Air Force, began a career in sales within the freight transportation industry. He raised his family in Fanwood and worked at Time-DC for over 20 years before retiring to Brick. Frank loved sports, he was an avid golfer and a faithful New York Giants and Yankees fan. Frank played softball for many years with the Fanwood “Old Man’s” softball league and loved being at the beach and celebrating holidays with his friends and family. He was an active member of his community and parishioner of Saint Bartholomew's church in Scotch Plains and Church of the Visitation in Brick. He was also an active member of the Jay-Cee’s and a former member of the Board of Trustees at the Pavilion Retirement Community. Throughout his life he was known as a fun loving, friendly person and even coined the nickname “Friendly Frank”, offering folks his limousine and bartending services. We will always remember his laughter, love for food, and the humorous habit of misstating words (such as “Ridiclus” instead of Ridiculous “Condominiums” instead of condiments and the “Exalted Rooster” instead of Exalted Ruler at the Elks Club). He created countless memories that will always make us smile.

Frank was preceded in death by former wives, Vitina (nee Catalano) Ruggiero- (the mother of his children) and Dorothy (nee Keating) Ruggiero.
He is preceded in death by two of his children, Kenneth and Susan Ruggiero.

He is survived by his devoted children Marianne Ruggiero, Thomas Ruggiero, and Sharon Good. He is also survived by his sister in-law, Josephine Duenas, daughter in-law, Marisa, son in-law, Ron, daughter-in law, Natalie and 3 beautiful granddaughters, Mia, Jamie and Jessie.

We love you Dad with all our hearts.
