Obituary for Garret J. "Cory" DeNoble

Garret J. (Cory) DeNoble, 89 of Bradley Beach passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune due to COVID-19.
Born in his family home to the late John C. and Marie (Vonk) DeNoble, he grew up in Midland Park and graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1949.

Some of his happiest days were on the baseball field with the Midland Park Rangers.

He was married to Norma (Lefelar) and raised three children in Wyckoff, NJ and worked for NJ Bell, Newark, NJ, for 40 years.

He married his second wife Grace (Vermeulen) in 1994 and retired to Snead’s Ferry, NC in 1998. They enjoyed many joyous days playing golf and watching boats sail by on the Intracoastal Waterway.

He headed back north and moved to Bradley Beach 3½ years ago to be closer to family. He loved his neighbors, friends, and Cathie.

He was a proud US Army veteran of the Korean War era and was a member of the American Legion in Midland Park and Neptune.
He is survived by his girlfriend Cathie Hoffman of Bradley Beach, his children; Michael and Ann Marie DeNoble of Matthews, NC, Jane DeNoble and T.J. Coan of Bradley Beach, and Marjorie (DeNoble) and Michael Murphy of Kearneysville,WV, his grandchildren Aidan and Ella, his step-daughter Suzanne Hein-Cottle of Long Valley and her daughter Lauren (Cottle) and Damien Ross, and great- grandson Preston. He was predeceased by his wife Grace (Vermeulen) DeNoble.
Due to COVID-19 there will be no funeral service. A celebration of his life is to be scheduled in the spring.
