Obituary for George James Gregory
George J. Gregory, 75 of Freehold passed away Monday, May 25, 2021 at his home.
George was born in Jersey City and had resided in Jersey City for many years before moving to the shore area in 2007.
A graduate of Dickinson High School in Jersey City, he attended Rutgers University where was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity before graduating in 1967. George received his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk Law School, Boston, Ma. and, following his graduation, passed both the New Jersey and New York bar examinations. He was employed by the State of New Jersey and was then in private practice before leaving the practice of law in the 1980s. For many years thereafter he worked as retail executive and then in the telecommunications industry. At the time of his death he had returned to the practice of law as a self-employed attorney in New York.
Surviving are his beloved sister Lois Gregory of Spring Lake Heights, and her son Gregory Martancik of Cypress, Texas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11 am at the Manasquan United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fulfill, the Monmouth and Ocean County Food Bank, at 3300 NJ Rte. 66, Neptune, NJ 07753.
