Obituary for George C. Lamp

George C. Lamp age 84 of Brick, passed away on January 10, 2024 at Concord Healthcare. He was born and raised in Elizabeth and lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Brick 54 years ago.

He proudly served in the United States Navy; George was passionate about his naval career and despite it coming to an end, he always loved his country, the Navy and aviation. His son followed in his footsteps, pursuing a career in aviation technology. George served aboard the USS Intrepid, Shangri-La, and Independence and was a flight mechanic on the AD-6 Skyraider and the A-6A Intruder.

George worked as an Electrician for Wheelock/Cooper/Eaton in Long Branch for many years. He was a parishioner of Epiphany RC Church in Brick.

He is predeceased by his parents Harry and Mary Lamp.

George is survived by his wife of 54 years Margaret “Peggy” Lamp (nee Flynn), son, Kevin Lamp, wife Michaela, daughter, Stephanie Lewis, husband Jeffrey, sister-in-law, Suzanne Flynn and four grandchildren, Connor B. Lamp, Braeden F. Lamp, Emma C. Lewis and Benjamin P. Lewis.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 5-8pm at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, 11am at Epiphany RC Church, Brick. Burial will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
