Geraldine Angelina Scherzer, age 91, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Born in Newark, NJ to Samuel and Louise Bonfante, Geraldine was raised in Bloomfield and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1950. She resided in Glen Ridge for 30 years before moving to Wall Township and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Geraldine then spent her winters in Palm Beach hosting all her family and friends whenever she could. While in New Jersey, she enjoyed trips to Atlantic City playing the slots, and attended numerous sporting events for her sons and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband of 61 years, John Scherzer, and her sister, Jean Stanco. Surviving are her sons Eric and his wife Kristina, Paul and his wife Laura, Kevin and his wife Karla, Kyle and his wife Kara; brothers, Samuel (Agnes) Bonfante, Gerard (Joann)Bonfante; sister, Donna Rocco; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Mark, Scott, Daniela, Brody, Ella and Sophia, along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2023 from 3-7 pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall with a service to take place at 6:30 pm.
