Helen Susanne Geiger, 83, of Wall Township, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Helen was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to NJ as a young child where she lived in Roselle Park until she married her sweetheart Tom. Helen was a devoted wife and mother, loving daughter, sister, aunt and proud grandmother. Helen is predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas of 60 years, her infant son Thomas, her brother Bernard “Bo” and her parents Helen and Bernard Murray. She is survived by her children Susan Foley and her husband Richard of Westford, MA and Jennifer Lyman and her husband John of Wall Township, her treasured grandchildren Connor, Cara, Jack, Matthew and Grace, her beloved sister Connie Gain of Stevensville MI along with many nieces and nephews.
Helen was a woman of great faith that carried her throughout her life. She was a role model of enduring and steadfast devotion to her faith and family. Helen volunteered countless hours in her children’s schools, local community and her faith community. She never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand and could always be depended on in a time of need. Helen was quick to make friends no matter where she found herself and her sense of humor and generous heart will be missed by all who knew her.
Helen was a graduate of Roselle Park High School. Upon graduation, she held several service-oriented positions before taking on her most coveted roles as wife, mother and grandmother.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions at the time of her husband Tom's passing his funeral arrangements were delayed. Visitation for Helen and Tom will be held at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd.,Wall on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 5-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in celebration of both their lives at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, Corner of 3rd and Ludlow Aves., Spring Lake on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 10:30 am. Please go directly to the Church as there will not be a procession from the funeral home.
