Henry D. Irons, 80, of Howell, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.  He was surrounded by his loving wife and long time friend.

Born at home in Long Branch, Henry resided in West Long Branch prior to settling in Howell.  He graduated  from Long Branch High School. He retired from the Long Branch School District after 25 years as a custodian.  He was an avid Elvis fan, loved old horror films and enjoyed entertaining family and friends.  He enjoyed winter vacations in Florida and amusement parks in the summer. He was a free spirited person, a bit of a rebel and he would always tell you what he truly thought.

Predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Claire (Rockhill) Irons; he is survived by his devoted wife of almost 43 years, Catherine (Arnold) Irons.

Viewing will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home in Brick.  A Funeral Service will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Cremation is private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Monmouth County SPCA.
