Irene M. Gang, 87, of Brick passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Irene worked as an estate analyst for incompetent veterans at the Veteran Administration Regional Office in New York City before retiring. 

While living in Staten Island, she was an active member of the Jewish Community Center where she also was a member of the Red Hat Society.  After moving to the Greenbriar Community in Brick, she became active with their clubhouse activities and was known on her cul-de-sac street to have the best garage to stop at during their neighborhood block parties. 

Born and raised in the Bronx, she lived in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island before moving to Brick 8 years ago.

Irene was predeceased by her son, Robert Green in 2018; parents, Morris and Selma Gottosman; her former husband, Jimmy Borg; and by her 2 sisters and 2 brothers. 

Surviving is her daughter, Susan Diana and her husband, Kenneth of Brick; 3 grandchildren, Melissa, Danielle and Robert; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Such an amazing and loving person. Her love of people and her beautiful smile drew people close to her and will cherish her memories.

A memorial visitation will be on Monday, June 5 from 1-3pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick.  A prayer service will be conducted at 2:30pm by Rabbi Amar
