James J. Arendt, 84 of Brick passed away on February 9, 2023 with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Jersey City and raised his family in East Brunswick before moving to Brick 20 years ago. 

He served in the United States Army and worked at NJ Bell in East Brunswick as a manager for over 30 years. Jim continued to get together regularly for lunch with the “Telephone Retirees” up through the week of his passing.

James was a parishioner at St. Martha’s RC Church, Point Pleasant. 

James is predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Adele Arendt, sister, Bernice Arendt and by his daughter Stacey A. Arendt. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia Arendt, children, Stephen Arendt, wife Carmela, Susan McCarty, husband Thomas, and Sandra Bolton, husband William, 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  

A viewing will be held on Tuesday February 14, 2023 from 10am to 10:45am at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Martha’s RC Church, Point Pleasant, 11am on Tuesday February 14th. Interment will be private.
