Obituary for James L. DePalma Jr.
James L. DePalma Jr. 92 of Manasquan, NJ died Saturday, September 26, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Newark, NJ James lived in Rahway, NJ and summered in Manasquan before moving to Manasquan after his retirement. James was a graduate of Rutgers School of Business where he earned his Master’s Degree. He was a Marketing Executive for IBM, New York, NY until his retirement. James was a parishioner of St. Mark’s Church, Rahway. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, Great grandchildren, Great - Great Grandchildren. He was also fond of his dogs and spending time tending to his gardens.
James was predeceased by his parents, James L. and Philomena DePalma, his loving wife of 68 years Rose DePalma, son Robert DePalma, daughter Rosemarie Coyne and his 3 siblings, Nunzio DePalma, Susan DePalma Malfatano and William DePalma.
Surviving are his 2 children, Andrew J. DePalma and his wife Lisa of Jackson, Diana DePalma of Manasquan, a brother Daniel DePalma Sr. of Caldwell, 6 grandchildren, Colleen Miller, Christopher Coyne, Courtney Gurrera, Bryan Furman, Christopher DePalma and Victoria DePalma. He also leaves his 5 great grandchildren, Paige, Kelsey, Matthew, Solomon, Alex and 2 twin Great-Great granddaughters Stella and Ruby.
Visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2020 from 4-7 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Committal will be private. Due to the Covid-19 executive orders of Gov. Murphy, please be mindful that all gatherings must follow capacity limitations, the wearing of masks, and the maintenance of social distancing.
