Janice H. Wenk, age 83, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020. Born in Elizabeth, NJ and raised in Linden, she resided in Lakewood for the past 22 years.
Mrs. Wenk was a 1955 graduate of Linden High School. She was an administrator at the DuPont Grasselli plant in Linden before retiring in 1992.
Janice was a member of the Eastern Star Emmaus Chapter #183 as well as an auxiliary volunteer for the former Elizabeth General Hospital.
Mrs. Wenk was very involved with her community at the Fairways including the Red Hats, the Wine Club and a charter member of the Garden Club. She was also a frequent flyer on the Fairway’s bus trips to Atlantic City.
Janice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending quality time with her family and will be deeply missed.
Janice was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald L. Wenk in 2011 and her parents, Cornelius and Grace (Weber) Cabarle.
Surviving her are her daughter, Donna L. Wenk of Edison, NJ; her sons, Kenneth W. Wenk and his wife, Annamarie of Bradenton, FL, and Christopher N. Wenk and his wife, Deborah of Whitehouse Station, NJ; her cherished grandsons, Christopher and his wife, Uyen, Ken, and Michael and his fiancé, Nikki Appezzato; her brothers, Cornelius Cabarle and his wife, Dorothy and Ken Cabarle and his wife, Betty; her sister, Jacqueline Hazard and her husband, Walter.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a Funeral Service being held at 7:30 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. The cremation is private.
