Obituary for Joan C. Curley (Canning)

Joan C. Curley, 86, of Brandywine Living, Wall, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30,2023, at Care One at Wall.

Joan was born in Framingham, MA, graduated Framingham High School and The Chandler School for Women, Boston, MA. After raising her family she worked in the dental field, and retired after managing her daughter’s dental practice in Wall Township, Susan J Curley DDS. Joan was a fun-loving optimist and possessed a great sense of humor. She was empathetic, honorable and admirably courageous. A true friend to all. She loved to travel and sail her two sloops, Christina and Curlew.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, James Michael Curley in 2022, her son Christopher Michael Curley in 2010; parents, Charles and Mary Canning; sisters, Rosemary and Alice Canning, brother, James Canning, and her beloved grand dog Stormy Curley.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Dr. Susan Jane Curley of Point Pleasant, and nephews, James and Jeffrey Canning of MA.

Visiting will be on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 11 am-12 noon at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35, Wall. A prayer service will be conducted at 12 noon. Burial will follow at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
