Obituary for Joan Linda Lisowski (Tucker )

Joan Linda (Tucker) Lisowski, 80, of Waretown, NJ passed away Wednesday, January 6th after a long and courageous battle with COVID 19. Joan was born in Elizabeth, NJ on September 1, 1940 and lived in central New Jersey and southwest Florida. In her early years, Joan attended school in Elizabeth, NJ and graduated in 1958 from Woodbridge High School, Woodbridge, NJ. The Lisowski’s spent many years of their lives in Monmouth County, including Middletown, Lincroft and Wall before Joan moved to Waretown six years ago. During her years in Waretown, Joan belonged to many groups including The Women’s, Italian American, Bocce, Artisans, Book and Birthday Clubs.

Joan joins in eternal rest her adoring husband of 59 years, Stanley “Richie” Lisowski, who predeceased her 15 years ago. Joan is also predeceased by her parents, George and Signe Tucker, and brother Thomas Tucker.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Stash Lisowski and Annie Devine, as well as her sister and brother-in-law Eileen and Robert Cody. Also surviving Joan are two other sons, Steven and Scott. Joan had 10 grandchildren, Danny, Nicholas, Jack, Sophie, Steven, Tommy, Megan, Jack, Luke, and Brooke, a niece Kathleen Cody and her husband Zac Bohm and 3 nephews Kevin Cody, Jeffrey Lisowski and Brian Lisowski.
Joan had a deep love and joy for the grandchildren in her life and her time with them always brought out her bright smile. We can’t forget her little joy, Lacy, her 7-year-old Havanese that brought her love and companionship. She had many friends and was always available with a comforting thought and will always be remembered for her caring and generous nature. We will miss you Joan.

A private interment will be held to rejoin her with her beloved husband Richie.

Given the current safety concerns for all, a celebration of Joan’s life will be planned and held during the summer for friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, Joan would have been grateful for donations, if desired, to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjudes.org/donate or The NJ Sharing Network at www.njsharingnetwork.org/contribute.

Cremation and interment arrangements are being handled by O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, NJ.
