Fisher
John W. Fisher, 72, of Howell Twp. and formerly of Colts Neck, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023, at his home, surrounded by the love of his companion Donna (nee Vanola) Glassen.
John was born in Long Branch to the late Walton and Ellie (nee Rundquist) Fisher. He resided in Colts Neck for over thirty years with Sarah (nee Choate) Fisher, whom he was happily married to from 1988 until her death in 2018. John was a graduate of Wentworth College, Boston, MA, and had been employed as an engineer with the NJ Turnpike Authority. John enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Mets, Jets, and Rangers and painfully boasted that he witnessed a combined four championship seasons while gracefully enduring 230 losing seasons. He was an extreme car enthusiast and an avid bowler. John was well known at the Asbury Bowling Lanes, where he famously held several bowling records, including the world record for three consecutive triplicates score while in season.
John is survived by his devoted companion Donna Glassen, his brother Chris and Nikki Ippolito of Guadalajara, Mexico, his stepsons Ray Brown of Rumson, Steven Brown of Shrewsbury, his stepdaughter and husband Robin and Tommy Danscuk of Howell, and his four grand-children Jared Danscuk, Alex, Marcus, and Lucas Brown. John was adored by his grandchildren and had loving and supportive relationships with them. Pop Pop, as he was known, enjoyed attending their sports events and watching movies and shows such as The Price is Right and Jeopardy. He enjoyed competing with them, and of course, he never lost.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:30am at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Rd., Freehold Twp., NJ 07728.
