Leon H. Britton Jr. “Butch” passed away on June 18, 2022, he was 81. He graduated from Asbury Park High School Class of 1959 and Murray State University. He was a Physical Ed teacher & coach at Matawan Regional High School for 37 years. He was predeceased by his parents Eleanor Syms Britton and Leon H. Britton Sr.

He is survived by the love of his life of 55 years, Eileen Hurley Britton, his daughter Cherie Meara, his son in law Robert Meara and his pride and joy, two grandchildren Payton Rylee & Bradyn Reed. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Mack along with his nieces and nephews.

At Butch’s request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers the family will be organizing a Scholarship in his name for a student/athlete at Matawan Regional High School. If you like to make a donation to the scholarship and/or send your condolences you can by emailing: reenrob@comcast.net.
