Lillian McSpiritt Van Note
April 9, 1922 – January 31, 2020

Lillian Marie McSpiritt Van Note, 97, of Point Pleasant, formerly of Jersey City, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020. Beloved wife of Francis William Van Note, who preceded her in death in 1987. She was also predeceased by her parents, Teresa (Campbell) and Francis McSpiritt, and sister Mary Alice Flannery. She leaves behind her sister, Frances Sydor, Paramus, NJ; son Thomas Van Note and daughter-in-law Maria, Wayne, NJ; daughters Margaret Van Note Sydor and husband Michael, Exeter Township, PA; and Nancy Van Note Chism and husband Grady, Indianapolis, IN. Lillian had great joy in her seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and worked part-time for Bridges Insurance in Jersey City. She retired to Point Pleasant with her husband in 1987. Lillian was a member of St. Martha’s Rosary Society, Rosary Makers, and Intercessory Prayer Group, and a former volunteer at Meridian Hospitals for ten years. Visiting hours will be on Friday, February 7 at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, NJ, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of St. Martha in Point Pleasant, NJ, on Saturday, February 8 at 10 AM, with interment at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt, NJ, immediately following.
