Obituary for Marian B. Heidemark

Marian B. Heidemark, 92, of Wall, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at her home.
Mrs. Heidemark was born in Neptune to George and Bertha Bodeep and raised in Avon. She had been a Wall resident since 1961. She was a member of St. Rose High School, Class of 1945. She began her career as a secretary at the Combat Surveillance and Target Acquisition Laboratory at Camp Evans, where she met her future husband, George Heidemark. She left work to raise her children, before returning to Camp Evans and eventually retiring in 1989. She was a devoted parishioner at St. Rose Church, Belmar, where she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society and Legion of Mary. She was also active in the Catholic Daughters of America, at Holy Spirit Church, Asbury Park, having served as Grand Regent and District Deputy. She enjoyed walking on the boardwalk and was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Heidemark was predeceased by her beloved husband George in 1993. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Sue Heidemark, of Sicklerville, and by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Daniel Cummings, of Wall, as well as by her grandchildren, Daniel, Cortland, Brianna and McKenna Cummings. Also surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, George and Elizabeth Bodeep, of Ga. Mrs. Heidemark was predeceased by her sister, Doris Robertson.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Friday, January 3, 2020, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose Church, Belmar, on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 10 AM, followed by burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Neptune. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Heidemark’s memory may be made to St. Rose Church, 603 7th Avenue, Belmar, NJ 07719. Condolences may be sent via www.obrienfuneralhome.com.
