Mrs. Andrews was a beloved teacher at Manasquan elementary school before retiring in 1999. She was an avid member of the NJEA and the former treasurer of Manasquan Retirees & Friends. Marianne was a graduate of The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College) with a bachelor’s degree in Education.

She was born and raised in North Brunswick before spending the past half century in Wall Township.

Mrs. Andrews was predeceased by her father, George Kartikis. Surviving is her loving husband of 48 years (“all to the same person” as Tiki would always say), Thomas L. Andrews; sons, Nicholas Andrews and his wife, Theresa of O’Fallon, MO and Stefan Andrews of Wall; her mother, Alice Kartikis of North Brunswick; sister, Marisa Dervich and her husband, Stanley of Cranbury; brother, Peter Kartikis and his wife, Sharon of Pompano Beach, FL; her beloved dog, Yogi; and granddogs, Lady, Jake, and Max.

The family will be holding a private memorial service and plans to have a celebration of life during their annual 4th of July party in 2021.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Fifth District AHEPA Cancer Research Foundation, online at or by mail to addressed to Fifth District AHEPA Cancer Research Foundation, Inc. c/o Andrew C. Zachariades, Treasurer, 305 Worth Street, Brick NJ 08724.

My deepest sympathy to you Tom, Nicholas and Stephan. I am so sorry for your loss. Marianne was such a sweet lady and having shared many years as a 4th grade teacher in Manasquan Elementary with her was truly fun and a pleasure. We had many personal and professional moments that are in my heart and memory. Marianne, May you now be at peace but you will always be in the hearts of all who knew you.
