Obituary for Marie Eick (Teschner)
Marie T. Eick (nee Teschner), 94, formerly of Spring Lake Heights, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, at Sunrise Assisted Living, Madison.
Mrs. Eick was born in Bayonne and raised in Glen Ridge. After marrying, she raised her family in East Orange, and then in Convent Station. She moved to Fairway Mews, Spring Lake Heights, 25 years ago, and to Sunrise Assisted Living four years ago. She enjoyed a successful career as a Secretary with Exxon-Mobil in Florham Park, before retiring many years ago. Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law.
Mrs. Eick was predeceased by her beloved husband, John H. Eick, in 1999. She is survived by her children- John & Susan Eick of Naples, FL; Mary Eick of Pittstown, NJ; Kenneth Eick of Escondido, CA; Robert Eick of Madison, NJ; Carl & Nancy Eick Weiner of Key West, FL; Thomas & Julie Eick of Colorado Springs, CO; and Keith & Virginia Eick of Wharton, NJ.
Also surviving are Mrs. Eick’s grandchildren Amber Hays, Heather Eick, Danny Eick, Steven Weiner, John Eick, Jennie Weiner, Perry Petrozelli, David Eick, Tamara Eick, Nicola Eick, Erin Eick, Talia Smith, Chloe Smith, Brian Eick; and great-grandchildren Sydney and Jack Hays, as well as many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Thursday, July 25, 2019, from 9-10 AM. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake, at 10:30 AM, followed by entombment at St. Catharine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Eick’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
