Obituary for Mark John Zusi

Mark John Zusi 62, of Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ died Saturday, May 21, 2022. Born in Montclair, NJ, Mark grew up in Roseland, spent every summer of his life at the beach in Sea Girt and lived in Sea Bright before residing and raising his family in Pt. Pleasant Beach with his wife Hartley, son Luke and daughter Kyle.  He was a parishioner of St. Mark’s Church, Sea Girt, NJ. Mark was an avid sportsman, growing up he led his hockey team at Seton Hall Prep to winning the Gordon Cup and gained an All - American title.  He received a scholarship to play at US International University in CA, and later graduated from Seton Hall University. During college, Mark traveled abroad and played European Rugby.  Mark also really loved playing paddle, he played in leagues along the Jersey Shore and competed in many tournaments from the NJ States to War at the Shore and could be found all winter long having fun on the courts with friends and family.  Mark loved the water and was a year-round fisherman and boater. He worked at various marinas throughout his career in marine sales, including Z Yacht Sales in Brick.  Mark was very generous with his time and was there for anyone who needed a hand with anything. He loved spending time with his friends and especially with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Mark is predeceased by his father Kenneth J. Zusi in 2013 and his brother Matthew in 2001. Surviving are his beloved wife Althea Hartley Zusi, their 2 children, Luke and Kyle Zusi all of Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ, his mother Pamela Zusi of Sea Girt, NJ, his 5 siblings, Ken Zusi and his wife Paula of Oceanport, NJ, Cindy Heavey and her husband Tom of Brielle, NJ, Damian Zusi and his wife Sarah of Bay Shore, NY, Christa Gorman and her husband Kieran of Bay Shore, NY, Megan Tansey and her husband Chris of Pt. Pleasant, NJ. Mark also leaves many in laws and all of his nieces and nephews who he really loved and adored.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, May 27, 2022, 9:30 am at St. Mark’s Church, 215 Crescent Pkwy., Sea Girt, NJ. O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall in charge of arrangements, www.obrienfuneralhome.com.
