Obituary for Martha Petruzzi (Koshuta)

Martha Petruzzi, 98, of Neptune, died from complications of coronavirus on May 25.
Born in Lansford, Pa., Martha grew up in Jersey City. As the oldest of eight siblings, Martha was proudly independent but always looked out for her family, buying a summer home in Belmar for her parents and siblings to share, and paying for tuition so her younger sister could go to college.
Martha worked as an administrative assistant for Westinghouse and Ford Motor Co. She moved to Florida where she married her husband, and they enjoyed traveling to the Bahamas and operating restaurants, until she moved back to the Jersey Shore after his death. She loved playing cards and Bingo, reading mysteries and going out for Chinese food, but most of all, she loved her family, and they loved her in return.
She is survived by her sisters Mary Koshuta and Marge Bernstock, and nieces Irene Thiel; Linda Mahler, Karen Landers, Lisa Kruse, Joanne Sabo, Lauren Kruse, Dawn Stout, Marybeth Walsh, Lenore Parisi and Leslie Kruse-Tagliatella; nephews Kevin and Ed Maypother; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Petruzzi; her parents, John and Elizabeth Koshuta; her sisters, Irene Thiel, Bette Maypother, Helen Mahler, and Dorothy Kruse; her brother, John Koshuta; and nephews Harry Mahler and Peter Mahler. We know they welcomed her home with love, laughter and a big hug.
