Obituary for Mary M. Schmidt (Mark )
Mary Rose Schmidt (Mark), age 93, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune. Born in Bayside Queens on May 20, 1927, she was raised in Bronx, New York. After residing in Elizabeth for 60 years, Mary relocated to Wall Township, for the last nine years.
Mary was a former communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and was an active member of the Rosary Society in Elizabeth, NJ.
Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry F. Schmidt; her parents, Peter, and Ann Fitzpatrick Mark and six siblings.
She had many interests over the years included playing cards, trips to Atlantic City, crocheting and spending treasured time with her great-grandchildren who lived nearby; Corey, Chase, Clayton Tamayo and Madison and Bennett Henry Chandler, of Manahawkin.
Surviving are her children, Mary Ann (Schmidt) Disko (Robert) of Wall, NJ and Patricia (Schmidt) Bullock (Jim) of Arizona and Paul Schmidt (Leslie) of Washington State; her cherished grandchildren, Mary Katherine (Kathy) Tamayo (Chris) of Howell, Daniel Chandler (Jill) of Manahawkin; Kim and Brian Bullock of Arizona; Delores, Samantha, and Heather Schmidt of Washington State; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
