Mary Ann MacQuaide, 80, of Bradley Beach passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Born in Elizabeth, Mary Ann lived most of her life at the Jersey shore. She graduated from Jersey City Medical Center Nursing School and began her nursing career at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. Mary Ann excitedly pursued her passion for nursing in California at both San Francisco General Hospital and the Department of the Navy. She later returned to New Jersey where she furthered her career and earned her Master’s degree from Seton Hall University. Mary Ann eventually retired from the Township of Edison Division of Health as the Supervisor of Nursing.

Mary Ann loved spending time with her friends and family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mary Ann is survived by her brothers, James J. O’Leary Jr. (Christine) and Kevin O’Leary (Penny), her step-children, Mark MacQuaide and Amy MacQuaide Piesco, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.  Mary Ann is predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas MacQuaide, her parents, James and Mary O’Leary, and her twin brother, John O’Leary. 

The visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home located at 505 Burnt Tavern Road at Highway 70, Brick, New Jersey 08724. A mass will be celebrated on September 1, 2023 at 11am at St. Martha’s Church located at 3800 Herbertsville Rd., Point Pleasant, New Jersey 08742. Interment will be private.
