Mary Virginia Meehan 90, “Ginny” as she was known, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Born in Orange, NJ, she met and married the love of her life Francis Patrick Meehan and they raised their 5 children in South Orange. Ginny worked as a real estate broker for Weichert Realtors in Short Hills, NJ. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, South Orange, NJ. She was active in politics and was district leader in South Orange for many years. As a hobby, later in life she was a thoroughbred horse owner.

Ginny was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Francis Patrick Meehan in 2018 and her son-in-law Spencer Cooke. Surviving are her 5 children, Francis “Frank” Meehan III, Bernice Lesueur and her husband Lance, Virginia Ann Cooke, Christopher B. Meehan and his wife Susan, Elizabeth Mooring and her husband Joseph, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren to whom she was greatly devoted.

Visitation will be Friday, June 10, 2022, from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, June 11, 2022, 9:30 am at St. Mark’s Church, 215 Crescent Pkwy., Sea Girt, NJ. Committal will follow in St. Anne Cemetery Mausoleum, Wall.
