Obituary for Maureen Butler (Eaton)

Maureen Butler, age 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her home in Manasquan with her husband and best friend, Jim, and her children by her side.  Born in Newark, Maureen was raised in Verona and had lived in Florham Park for 20 years and then Avon, Connecticut, for 10 years before moving to Manasquan.  She loved the shore and enjoyed family times in Beach Haven.  She graduated from the Mountainside School of Nursing and was a neonatal nurse until she began raising her family.

Maureen's greatest joy in life was being a mother and raising her three children. 

Maureen is predeceased by her mother, Eileen M. Eaton, her father, Richard T. Eaton, and her brother, Kevin Eaton. 

Surviving are her beloved husband of 45 years, Jim; her loving children, Jim and his wife, Meg, Elizabeth, and Erin; her cherished grandchildren, Brody, Zac, and Cass; brothers, Richard (Janice) and Brian (Katie); and brothers-in-law, Tom (Roberta), Jack (Susan), and Pierce (Darlene).

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 2-5 p.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35, Wall.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, February 9 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, in Sea Girt, followed by the entombment at St. Anne's Cemetery, in Wall. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, New Jersey Metro Chapter.
