Norah Elizabeth Bruther, age 23, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend, tragically passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 after being struck by a vehicle while on vacation in Scottsdale, AZ.  Born on September 3, 1998, Norah was the oldest of three sisters and clearly the leader of the “Bruther Girls”.  Although her life was short, its impact on everyone she met was immeasurable and will live on in all she touched.   Our Angel from Heaven is now an Angel in Heaven.

Norah was raised in Wall, NJ where she attended Old Mill Elementary School and Wall Intermediate School.  Like many Wall girls, she developed a love for soccer which began at the age of 4 and quickly developed into travel club soccer.  Although small in size, she was a tenacious defender, but more importantly a fun-loving teammate.  She attended and graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School (RBC) where among many things played soccer and was a co-captain her senior year.  After graduation from RBC, she enrolled at Moravian University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting in 2020.  During her time at Moravian, she continued her love of soccer, playing on the Woman’s Soccer team, earned Dean’s List Honors, was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority where she served on leadership council as risk manager and was a big sister.  She was also a member of the Amrhein Investment Club, Secretary of the Accounting Club, a member of the Accounting Honor Society, and the treasurer of the Operations Smile Club. 

After graduation from Moravian, Norah embarked on her accounting career with the Big Four accounting firm of EY as a member of Financial Services Office Assurance team in its New York City Office, where she excelled to the level of Senior Associate in a little over a year.  She was living in Manhattan and was working towards obtaining her CPA license.

Throughout her schooling and professional years, not only did she amass knowledge, but her loving and giving personality helped her to develop a huge network of friends.   Although Norah was an accomplished student and professional, she will be best remembered as a Jersey Shore girl, who loved spending time with family and friends at the beach. Among Norah’s many hobbies were shopping and a newfound passion for cooking.  Norah loved experimenting with new recipes with her sous chef, Brandon.  She was our fashion guru who lit up any room she walked into with an infectious smile and larger than life personality.  When it came to her family and friends, no problem was too big or too small for Norah to lend a hand.  Norah was generous with her time and loved planning parties for her family and friends.  She lived life as a celebration and enjoyed new experiences and traveling.

She is predeceased by her grandparents, John F. Bruther, Jr., Grace E. Tackas and Gary Tackas; Thomas F. Cannon, and her uncle, Raymond Mikovits.

Surviving are her beloved parents, John F. Bruther, III and Piper Reid Bruther; her loving sisters, Grace C. Bruther and Emma C. Bruther; her maternal grandparents, Concetta S. Cannon and Thomas H. Reid; 18 aunts, 16 uncles, 31 cousins, as well as countless friends, especially her boyfriend, Brandon Sisk.

Viewing will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. at St. Denis RC Church, 90 Union Ave., Manasquan, NJ 08736.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, May 14th at 11:30 a.m. at St. Denis RC Church followed by the interment at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt.
