Obituary for Pamela Musa-Murphy

Pam Musa-Murphy, 69 of Toms River and formerly of Spring Lake passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at home with her family at her bedside after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

Pam was born and raised in Spring Lake and raised her three children in Monmouth County.  She had an artist’s heart, a poet’s thoughts, and a continued musical beat in her soul.

Pam trained at the Stuart School of Business in Asbury Park and took a job at Bulova watch company in NYC, before starting her family in Spring Lake.  As a single parent of three active boys, she graduated from Georgian Court College with a Bachelors’ degree in Art.  She pursued a career with Monmouth County Probation as an officer of the court, where she fiercely advocated for her clients.   Her artistic talents included impressionistic painting, modern sculpture, and photography.  She pursued a brief, independent career in photography and won awards at the Brookdale Community Art Show. Pam felt a deep connection with Mother Earth and was a certified Master Gardener who always supported Environmental awareness.  Her gardens were a spectacular display of color and beauty.  She was spiritual, and free spirited and was known to break into song or dance at drop of a familiar musical tune.  She was an active Communicant of St Anselm’s Church in Ocean Township where she volunteered to help those in her community.  Pam was a vigilant defender of American Democracy and the civil rights of all citizens of the United States.

She was predeceased by her son, Brendan Murphy, her father William D. Musa, her mother Helen E. Musa and her sister, Linda Musa.

Surviving are her sons, Brian Murphy, his wife Megan and their children, Grace and Gavin of Little Falls, Kevin Murphy, his wife Jamie and their children, Kate and Chase of Howell, her siblings William P. Musa of Oregon City, OR, Nancy E. Cunard of Howell, Joseph P. Musa of Middletown, Julia Sanders of Allenwood, and Gini Pagnoni of Wall, her nieces and nephews, Justin W.
