Paul Joseph Strohmenger Jr., 74, of Whitestone, NY and formerly of Hewlett, NY, Woodmere, NY and Spring Lake, NJ, passed away on May 17, 2021 at Calvary Hospital in Bronx, NY.
Paul was born on March 30, 1947 in Neptune, NJ to the late Paul J. and Pearl (nee Olsen) Strohmenger Sr. Paul grew up in Spring Lake, NJ. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and St. Peter’s College. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant at Deloitte in New York City. Over the years he became a seasoned financial and management professional advising companies and organizations in a range of industries. For the past 25 years, Paul was the Managing Partner of Nettle Bay Partners, a company he founded to provide financial management services to businesses as well as acting as an outsourced CFO. In 2014, Long Island Business News named him CFO of the Year. He was also a member of the CFO committee of the Long Island Chapter of Financial Executives International. In addition, Paul was an adjunct professor in the School of Management at Long Island University – CW Post where he taught business and accounting.
Paul was also an active member of his community. He coached Little League for all 3 of his sons. He was co-founder of the Victims Impact Panel of the Nassau County Probation Department which provided a forum for accident victims to tell their stories of how drunk driving changed their lives. He loved traveling with his family to his beloved St. Maarten. He was also an avid swimmer and could be found regularly at the local pool doing laps.
Surviving him are his three sons, Stephen of Ridgewood, NJ, Thomas of Brooklyn, NY, and Richard of Briarcliff Manor, NY; sisters, Susie Milone of Jensen Beach, FL, Nancy Colclough of Spring Lake Heights, Judy Dombroski of Spring Lake Heights, NJ and Kathy Willever of Belmar, NJ; grandchildren, Braden, Jordan, Luke, Nicholas, Alexis and Zachary; and his loving partner Lynn Cromack.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, NJ 07719. Committal will be private.
