Obituary for Peter E. Warshaw

Peter E. Warshaw, 89 of Sea Girt, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021. Peter was born in Jersey City to Annette and Ernest Warshaw. He graduated from St. Rose High School in Belmar and St. Peter’s College in Jersey City. Peter spent his entire career in sales for the plumbing industry, working for Powers Regulator Company, Speakman Company and Delta Faucet Company before his retirement in 1996. He was very active in industry associations, including the Plumbing Manufacturers Institute and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers. He also had the distinction of testifying before Congress on water conservation issues during the early 1980s. Peter was a devoted Communicant and active volunteer at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Sea Girt.

Peter is pre-deceased by his wife Mary Jane, to whom he was married 46 years. He is also predeceased by his parents, brother Thomas and sister Resa King. He is survived by his five children: Peter (Maureen) of Middletown; Anne (Mike) Simons of Shoreview, MN; Mary Beth (Mike) Delaney of West Chester, PA; Ellen (Joe) Nudge of Elkton, MD and William of Chicago, IL. Additionally, he is survived by six grandchildren Jane Warshaw and Peter Warshaw III, Alex Simons, Mary Kate Delaney and JT and Esteban Nudge; sisters and brothers -in-law June Warshaw, William and Rosemary Gannon, Joseph and Eileen Kenney; his treasured nieces and nephews and many dear friends. The family would like to especially thank Peter’s special Angels – Kim, Joy, Carol and Vida.

Peter was a beloved man, known for his big smile and his quick wit. He loved baseball, Bullwinkle, the Marx Brothers, the Jersey Shore and crumb cake. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. His family will always be inspired by his legacy of love, faith, friendship and hard work – and we know he entered heaven belting out one of his favorite silly songs.
