Obituary for Raymond H. Taggart
Raymond H. Taggart, 79, of Wall, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020.
Ray was raised in the Bronx and lived in Malverne, Long Island for many years before moving to Wall 21 years ago. Ray served in the National Guard, before beginning a long career with ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers), where he was the Taxation Manager. He then owned and operated Susan Murphy’s Ice Cream, Spring Lake Heights, for 11 years, until retiring. He was an avid fisherman and an active member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, Belmar.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife Mary (nee Barrett), by his brother, Brian Taggart, and by his sister, Patricia Jaffe, as well as by nephews and nieces.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, from 12-4 PM. Cremation will take place privately. Condolences may be sent via www.obrienfuneralhome.com.
