Obituary for Regina Donovan Frost

Regina Donovan Frost, 97 of Spring Lake Heights, NJ entered into eternal rest on January 21st, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Jeanie was born on January 24, 1926 in her beloved Bayonne where she resided most of her life before moving to the shore. She is predeceased by Jack, her loving husband of 67 years.

Daughter of Catherine & James Donovan (dec), sister of James (dec) and dear brother Bill. Mother of Patricia & John Ruggirello of Monmouth Beach, Kit of Mancos, Colorado, John & Sandra of Monmouth Beach, Regina of Bradley Beach, Marie DeMasi of Wall, Mark & Diane of Freehold and Mary Ellen Kitchen of Center Valley, PA.

Mourning Mom Mom’s passing are 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother William Donovan, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and dear friends.

Educated in Bayonne at St. Mary’s and Holy Family Academy, upon graduation from the Berkley Secretarial school Jeanie worked as an executive assistant in New York City.

While raising seven children she was active in the County Corkmen Association, St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Rosary Society, and Holy Family Mothers Club.

Always available, she was seldom without a child in her lap or a baby in a carriage. Jean comforted those in need and had a long list of charities she supported.

She was a grand lady.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, NJ 07719 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Catharine’s Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake, NJ 07762. Private committal will take place at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle  NJ Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.
