Richard Aron Dinnerman passed away on April 25, 2023, at Ocean University Medical Center after a long, disabling illness. He was 79 years old. Despite his illness, he maintained his good nature and positive attitude throughout.

Richard was born and raised in New York, New York, and lived in Freehold before moving to Brick 30 years ago. 

Richard worked at the Department of Defense and subsequently for New Jersey Gravel and Sand. Upon retirement, he enjoyed helping people by working part time at Home Depot and volunteering at Ocean Medical Center.

Richard enjoyed being a member of Jersey Shore Ultralights aircraft club, South Jersey Volkswagen Club, Blue Star Motorcycle Club, of which he had been President, and various antique car clubs.

He is predeceased by his parents Archie and Margo Dinnerman, grandson Richard Thomas Dinnerman, and brother-in-law Robert Merten.

He will be greatly missed by his family: his loving wife of 20 years, Ruth Carol Merten Neal; sons Richard Dinnerman of Freehold, NJ and Michael Dinnerman of Houston, Tx; grandsons Michael Dinnerman (Allison) and Alex Dinnerman; and in-laws William and Barbara Merten, Laura Merten, Glenn and Allison Merten, and Paige Merten. 

Cremation was private and under the direction of O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick, NJ 08724.
