Richard K. Swetits, 85, of Ocean Township, passed away on Thursday, June 8th, 2023, at his residence. He was born and raised in Avenel, NJ, and spent most of his life in Bay Head where he raised his two sons, before settling in Ocean Township 10 years ago after Superstorm Sandy flooded his home in Bay Head. Dick as everyone called him had been the General Manager of WHTG AM and FM and WHTG Tower Corporation for many years and was also a member of the Tinton Falls Rotary Club, on the board of directors for CVR (Center for Vocational Rehabilitation) and the New Jersey Broadcasters Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed his boat “LADY FAYE” and traveling around the world. The one thing he enjoyed was keeping busy. 

He is predeceased by his wife, Joan Swetits in 1998; longtime companion and fiancée Faye Gade in 2015; brother, Charles Swetits in 2023; and Sister Lorraine DiFiore in 2014. Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Swetits and his wife, Dorothy of Howell and Peter Swetits of Lakewood; grandchildren, Peter Swetits and fiancée Nancy Nobes, Matthew Swetits and fiancée Danielle Barbieri, Caitlin Arnone and husband Kiel, and Rob Swetits; and great granddaughter, Bella Arnone.
