Obituary for Robert Adam Bauer

Robert A. Bauer, 79 of Lakewood and formerly of Manasquan passed away peacefully Thursday, April 29, 2021 surrounded by his family. His greatest joy was his three daughters and he took great pride in his close knit family.
Born in Neptune, he was raised in Neptune City, and resided in Manasquan for many years before moving to Leisure Village, Lakewood 10 years ago.
As a resident of Manasquan, he was a Communicant of St. Denis Church and the Manasquan Elks Lodge #2534.
He was a previous owner of Center Food Market, Manasquan and went on to work in Management for Wakefern Foods, Freehold Twp. until his retirement.
Bob had a passion for cooking and baking for his family and friends. His talents in the kitchen will be missed by all who knew him, especially his children and grandchildren who greatly benefited and looked forward to his weekly home cooked meal deliveries.
Bob was a born storyteller and thoroughly enjoyed researching his family lineage as well as having a strong pride in both his Polish and German heritage. He was an avid reader and enjoyed following all things sports including his grandchildren’s sporting events and accomplishments.
He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Veronica (nee Sikora) Bauer Sr. and two siblings Ralph Bauer and Marilyn Keene.
He is survived by his three devoted daughters and their spouses, Ellen and Jaycee Cosentino of Manasquan, Kimberly and Andy Manser of Manasquan and Carolyn and Bryan Goletz of Brielle. His seven beloved grandchildren Veronica and Alexandra Cosentino, Andy, Teddy, and Merry Manser, Willie and Benny Goletz. Along with his former spouse and mother of his children Linda Helies. As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 1:00pm to the time of the Funeral Service at 3:30pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Private burial will be in the Bauer family plot in St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there are limitations on capacity at the funeral home, guests are asked to briefly greet the family for the visitation and exit the building. Face-coverings must be worn to enter the building.
