Robert Decina, 72, passed away on April 22, 2021 at Jersey Shore Hospital. Son of Giosafatte & Ida, he was born and raised in Brooklyn, along with three siblings. Robert went on to a successful career in IT, retiring from Invesco.
Robert had a knack of making everyone feel special because they were all special to him. He was a selfless and giving man who loved to make others smile. He was quick with a joke, always lit up the room & prided himself on being handy. Above all, nothing made him prouder than his amazing family.
Robert was happily married to Diane (Kiefer), his childhood sweetheart, for 50 years. They raised their beloved children, Brian and Karen, in Holmdel. Robert & Diane were blessed with five wonderful grandchildren who will miss their dear Pop Pop.
Robert leaves his wife Diane; son Brian & wife Erika & their children Nicholas and Gianna of Manasquan; daughter Karen & husband Adam Koster & their children Gavin, Liam and Rian of Colts Neck; brother Thomas & wife Louise of Middle Village, NY; brother Dennis & wife Leslie of Hewitt, NJ; sister Carol Decina of Brooklyn; and many nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
Visitation will be at O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, on Sunday from 12-2pm and 5-7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake, on Monday at 10:30am with entombment to follow at Holmdel Cemetery.
