Obituary for Robert M. "Monty" Johnson

Robert M. “Monty” Johnson, 83 of Manchester and formerly of Bradley Beach passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Meridian Nursing & Rehab at Ocean Grove.
Robert was a United States Army veteran and had served as a police officer for the New York City Police Department (NYPD) shield #10551 for many years. He was a member of the NYPD 10-13 Club and a member of the Irish American Club, Manchester, and avid NY Yankees fan.
Born in Manhattan, he resided in the Bronx, and in Queensbury, NY for 13 years and then in retired to Bradley Beach where he lived for 13 years before moving to Manchester 14 years ago. As a Bronx resident, he was a Parishioner of St. Nicholas of Tolentine and when moving to Bradley Beach he was a Parishioner of the Church of the Ascension.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Helen (nee Toomey) Johnson. Surviving is his devoted wife of 59 years Martha (nee Armstrong) Johnson, 3 loving sons Patrick and Sandra of Scituate, MA, Emmett and Darryl of Wyckoff and Brendan and Jane of Mahopac, NY, his 5 beloved grandchildren Kelly, Patrick, Kendra, Liam and Ryann, and 2 great grandchildren Dylan and Brady, and many close relatives and loving friends.
Private burial will be in the Johnson family plot in St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall Twp.
