Robert J. Lynch, 83, of Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2019 surrounded by his family. Born in Bronx, NY, Robert, also known as Bob and Sonny, lived in Old Bridge and Marlboro before moving to Ocean then Jackson and most recently Tinton Falls. Bob was a self-employed film editor of TV commercials, secret clearance films for the government, as well as documentaries and movies until he retired at the age of 55. Bob was a very dedicated husband and father who adored his family and friends above all. He was a proud member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh in Old Bridge and truly loved being Irish. Bob was an avid chess player, a fisherman who never ate fish, a die-hard Giants fan for more than 70 years and an excellent provider for his family. This tough boy from the Bronx was well respected, always stuck up for the underdog, fun-loving guy who was a true gentleman always. Sonny and his wife, Bobbie, loved to dance the Lindy, travelled the world together and were married for over 50 years. Bobbie was the love of his life. Sonny was predeceased by his beautiful wife, Roberta “Bobbie” Lynch in 2008, his brother Jimmy Lynch and his sister Florence Shulman. Surviving are his children (spouses), Robert Lynch, Colleen DeLuca and her husband, Tony DeLuca and Patrick Lynch and his wife, Ellen Lynch, his sister Ellen Lynch McLynch of Florida and his grandchildren: Colton DeLuca, Jordyn Lynch and Aiden Lynch. Visitation will be Sunday, August 18th from 2 to 5 pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home: 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Road in Wall, NJ. Funeral Service will also be held Sunday at 4:30 pm at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will be on Monday, August 19th at 10:30 AM at St. Anne’s Cemetery at 1610 Allenwood Road in Wall, NJ 07719. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Robert’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 740 Broad St. Suite 4 Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place in Memphis, TN 38105.
