Obituary for Robert R. "Bob" Scholl Sr.

Robert R. Scholl, Sr., 90, of Manchester, formerly of Wall Township, passed away at Jersey Shore Medical Center on December 25, 2020. Born in Jersey City on March 16, 1930, he was the son of the late Joseph and Matilda Bruen Scholl. Bob grew up in Wood-Ridge, NJ. Soon after graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army, serving as an electrician with the 528th Engineer Heavy Shop Company in Davis Army Air Force Base on Adak Island, Alaska. After leaving the service, he relocated to Manasquan, and later to Wall Township. Bob was the owner of Robert Scholl Plumbing & Heating Co. During this time, he served two terms as President of the Plumbing and Heating Contractors Association of Monmouth County. In later years, he worked as Plumbing Inspector/Subcode Official, lastly in Manchester Township, retiring in 1996. Bob was predeceased by his daughter, Nancy J. Springer, his son, Robert R. Jr., and his brother, Ernest J. Scholl. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Jean Edith Hance Scholl; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah L. and Paul Rabenda of Wall; son, Wayne B. and son-in-law, Ben Kreger of Point Pleasant; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Interment was private in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle at the wishes of the family and under the direction of O’Brien Funeral Home.
