Obituary for Robert Carl Talmo III

Robert Carl Talmo III, 34 of Warwick, R.I. and a longtime resident of Scotch Plains, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 8, 2022.

Born in Westwood, NJ, he had resided in Scotch Plains for many years before moving to Warwick, R.I. 2 years ago. He was a graduate of Johnson & Wales University, Providence, RI and was employed at General Dynamics Electric Boat, Kingston, RI. Previous to this after his graduation he spent 12 years in graphic design with multiple companies.

Robert was a huge St John’s Basketball & Dallas Cowboys fan and played soccer throughout his youth. Other interests included music enthusiast, fishing and skateboarding. Bobby’s pride and joy was his daughter Mila who was the center of his life for the past two years.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Patrick Montgomery.

He is survived by his mother Cheryl (nee Montgomery) McDermott and her husband Gary of Spring Lake, his father Robert C. Talmo Jr. of Closter, his beloved daughter Mila Rose Talmo, his brother Dillon & sisters Shannon and Caitlin McDermott, his paternal grandparents Robert and Sylvia Talmo and his maternal grandmother Dorothy Montgomery and many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 16 at 10:30am at St. Margaret’s Church, Corner of 3rd and Ludlow Aves., Spring Lake. Interment in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family specifically request donations be made to establish an educational fund for Mila in care of Robert’s mother,  Cheryl McDermott.
