Robin Beth Martin, 62, of Brick, passed away late Monday night, January 23, 2023 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Orange, raised in Irvington, and had lived in Union and Iselin before settling in Brick in 2003.
In any room, Robin had the purest heart and was the brightest light. People always commented on her beautiful smile, even throughout her rigorous battle against ALS. That smile radiated from within. Robin lived an active and healthy lifestyle. Before children, Robin enjoyed ski trips with her husband and their friends. She loved walks, especially along Sea Girt boardwalk and
the surrounding neighborhood with her daughter and caregiver, Kelly. She cherished every visit home from her daughter, Dani, and equally enjoyed visiting and exploring Los Angeles with her. Yet, Robin could be coaxed with an Amaretto 7-up, a fire, or a Hallmark movie to sit still. One of Robin's favorite escapes was her sister Debbie’s cabin in Pennsylvania. Frequently joined by her much loved nieces and nephews, they spent countless hours kayaking on the lake at Promised Land State Park. Before she passed, every holiday and birthday was celebrated at Robin’s beloved mother Shirley’s house, offering Robin and her family a life-time of fond memories.
Always off-beat and one word behind, Robin’s lack of musicality never stopped her from blissfully dancing and singing along to music, both live and at home. Robin wasn’t a big foodie, yet she loved meeting dear friends, some weekly, at their favorite restaurants. Other times, Robin simply preferred being out and staying busy. This often meant shopping and running errands with her friends, husband, or daughter.
She is predeceased by her parents, Herman and Shirley Biarsky; uncle, Alan Zimmerman; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Martin and Suzanne Biarsky. Robin is survived by her husband of 36 years, James Martin of Brick; daughters, Kellyann Martin of Brick and Danielle Martin of Los Angeles, CA; siblings, Debra Karros and her husband, John of Randolph, NJ, Jody Salant and her husband, Larry of Spring Valley, NY, and Mitchell Biarsky of East Hanover, NJ; as well as her many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:00pm with her memorial service to begin at 3:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robin’s name may be made to the Joan Dancy and PALS Foundation, an ALS organization that has provided endless support for Robin’s family throughout her illness Click Here to Donate.
