Obituary for Rodney J. Woolley

Rodney J. Woolley, 82 of Brick, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at his home under the care and comfort provided by his two daughters. He was a long-time resident of Wall, NJ and Naples, FL.

He was a 1960 graduate of Lakewood High School and had retired after a career with AT&T, which began in the early days of Bell Telephone. He was an avid thrift shop consumer and never passed up a good yard sale. For many years, he and his wife operated SunnySide Antiques at the Point Pleasant Antique Emporium, he was a skilled picture framer, a car enthusiast and enjoyed water skiing on Lake Bomoseen, VT. Rod was a soling 1-meter racer and member of the Marbleheaders. On weekdays you could find him competing with fellow sailors along Spring Lake, NJ or Crystal Lake, Naples, FL.

Mr. Woolley is predeceased by his parents, James and Evelyn (Hankins) Woolley and his loving wife of 53 years Lillian Woolley (Pillitteri). Surviving are his two daughters Maria Bolderman (Bruce) of Manasquan and Gina McNamara (Bill) of Island Heights; his brother Ken Woolley (Maryellen) of Cheshire, CT; his grandchildren A.J. and Marilyn; his sisters-in-law Katherine Gatt (Charlie) of Monroe and Diana Beckman (Gene) of Allentown; his companion of three years Judy Bowmer of Williamsburg, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 4-7pm at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Funeral Service will begin at 11am on Friday, February 3, 2023, at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
