Obituary for Rosemarie Best (Drust)
Rosemarie (nee Drust) Best, 85, of Brielle, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Edwardsville, PA, she had resided in Watchung for 30 years where she raised her family, and then resided in Tinton Falls for 14 years before living with her daughter in Brielle for the past 2 years.
Rosemarie was very active in the community where she lived. She was a member of the Jersey Shore Women’s Club involved in fundraising and events planning. She also volunteered in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune for many years. A devout Catholic, she was a Communicant of St. Anselm’s Church, Wayside, and most recently a Communicant of St. Denis, Manasquan.
She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Rose (nee Suda) Drust and her siblings Alex, Dolores, Edward, Robert, Eugene and Francis.
Surviving are her devoted children Gary Obrero of Howell, Barton Bendix of Ocean Twp., and Kimberly Higgins of Brielle, with whom she lived, and her 4 grandchildren, Elyse Obrero, Matthew Obrero, Gage Bendix and Gavin Bendix and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 10:00 am in St. Denis Church, 90 Union Ave., Manasquan. Visitation will be from 9:00am until 9:45am in the Church prior to the Mass. Entombment will be in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there are limitations on capacity at the Church, guests are asked to briefly greet the family for the visitation. Face-coverings must be worn to enter the Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall.
