Obituary for Ruth Louise Pardue (Widmann)
Ruth Pardue, 94, of Wall, NJ, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, NJ from complications of COVID-19 following a brief stay at CareOne at Wall, NJ.
Ruth was the daughter of Wilhelm and Lena Widmann of Irvington, NJ. Beloved wife of the late John J. (Jack) Pardue. They lived in Watchung, NJ before moving to Wall, NJ in 1965. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Denis Church in Manasquan, NJ and at Holy Innocents Church in Neptune City, NJ.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Jack and is survived by her daughter Anita and her sons Bill and Tom, to whom she was a loving mother, as well as Bill’s wife Lora Bruggeman and Tom’s fiancee Stephanie Erwin. She was also a wonderful grandmother to Marissa, Noah and Kieran Pardue, and great grandmother to Oliver Pardue.
An avid reader, she was never without a spy novel or mystery to devour. She loved doing the daily crossword puzzle and could be found each morning parked by the ocean, enjoying a coffee and watching the surfers. She also became an avid traveler with her husband, Jack, taking several cruises later in their marriage. Ruth remained in close contact with school friends Ruth Bonner, Shirley Kellett and Jane Totten, and greatly cherished their friendship.
Ruth was a long-time employee of the Monmouth County (NJ) Mosquito Commission, and previously worked for Insurance Concepts in Ocean Twp, NJ, Sun Life of Canada in Belmar, NJ, and Prudential Insurance in Newark, NJ.
A funeral mass will be held at Holy Innocents, Neptune, NJ on December 30th at 11 am. O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall, NJ is handling arrangements.
