Obituary for Severio "Sevey" Vignola

Severio “Sevey” Vignola, 82, of Howell passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Crest Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Point Pleasant.  Mr. Vignola retired as a chemist at Bel-Ray in Wall Township.  He attended both Syracuse University in upstate New York and Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck.  He was a devout catholic and member of St. William the Abbot in Howell.  Sevey loved sailing and boating and was an auto racing enthusiast.  He was an avid family bowler who enjoyed playing a round of golf and also watching the NY Mets play baseball as well as the NY Giants playing football.

Born in Jersey City, he lived in North Bergen where he owned a florist before moving to the Ramtown section of Howell 34 years ago and enjoyed making flowers for the church community.

Mr. Vignola was predeceased by his daughter, Kelly Rossillo; parents, George and Mary Vignola, sisters, Rachel and Ben Wilder, Virginia and Dave Roden and Ann and Bill Ziganto.  Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Rosalind Joy (Foley) Vignola of Howell, son Phil Rossillo of South Amboy; daughter Susan Rossillo of Howell; grandchildren Alexandria and Michael Rossillo. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews  - Bill Ziganto,  Nancy and Dave Russell,  Steven and Debbie Ziganto, Mark and Rebecca Wilder, Susan and Ted Klaube, and George Roden, as well as great nieces and nephews and many extended family members. 

Visiting will be Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at St. William the Abbot 2740 Allenwood-Lakewood Rd., Howell.  Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood. 

Donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
