Stephen “Steve” Bellis of Keyport NJ passed away on Tuesday March 8, 2022. Steve died peacefully at home after a brief illness. He was 64 years old.
Steve lived his whole life in New Jersey. He was born in Newark and lived in Union for 45 years before moving to Keyport. He graduated from Union High School in 1975 and went on to study diesel mechanics at Engine City Technical Institute. He worked for Tuscan Dairy and Ryder Truck before opening his own repair shop in Roselle Park. In 1998, Steve came full circle and began his career as an instructor at his alma mater Engine City Tech.
Steve had a few passions, first and foremost his love of friends and family. He was always up for a barbecue with the people that meant the most to him. He also loved riding his Harley and listening to great rock and roll. He will always be remembered by his two nephews and four nieces as the “cool” Uncle who rode a Harley and loved Led Zeppelin and many other great bands.
Steve is predeceased by his parents John and Rosemarie Bellis and is survived by his brother Michael and sister-in-law Donna Marie and brother Robert. Steve is also survived by his fiancé Chrissy, her son Larry and his son Joseph.
Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Steve’s life on Saturday March 12, 2021, at the O’Brien Funeral Home from 2:00 to 5:00 PM located at 2028 Highway 35 and New Bedford Road in Wall, NJ. There will be a prayer service at 4:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Steve’s name to the American Cancer Society.
