Obituary for Tara Ann Carpenter (Evans)

Tara Ann (nee Evans) Carpenter, 52 of Brick Twp and formerly of Wall Twp. passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune with her devoted family at her bedside.

Tara was born in Jersey City, graduated from Indian Hills High School, Oakland and had resided in Wall Twp. from 1997 until moving to Brick Twp. in 2019. Tara had been employed as a Transportation Specialist for the Wall Twp Board of Education for many years. She especially enjoyed helping with the disabled children for the past 4 years. She had also served as the Union Delegate for several years.

An avid bowler, she frequently bowled at Bradley Lanes, Bradley Beach. She loved going on cruises, boating, the beach and going to Disney. Tara was an avid reader of such authors like Nora Roberts and Linda Fairstein.

She was predeceased by her father Robert M. Evans and her brother in law Timothy Carpenter.

Surviving is her devoted husband of 25 years Scott R. Carpenter, her beloved children Kristen and Sean Carpenter of Brick, Twp., her mother Marilyn (nee Cahill) Evans of Brick, her sisters and their spouses Dawn and Chris Riccardi, Robyn Evans, and Kathy and Jeff Ullman, Scott’s siblings and their spouses James and Dalia Carpenter, Brett and Angie Carpenter, and Michelle and Norm Millender and her nieces and nephews that she loved as if they were her own children Merissa, Christopher, Lindsay, Jessica, Courtney, Lauren, Sarah, Jena, Reese, and Lauren.

Visitation Wednesday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 10:30am in St. Catharine’s Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake. Please go directly to the Church as there will not be a procession from the funeral home prior to the Mass. Interment will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there are limitations on capacity at the funeral home, guests are asked to briefly greet the family for the visitation and exit the building. Face-coverings must be worn to enter the building as well as the Church.
