Obituary for Theodore L. "Ted" Lund

Theodore “Ted” Larsen Lund, 84, of Manasquan passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.

Born in Lakewood, NJ, Ted grew up in Jackson and Lakewood.  He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1955 where he played baseball.  After high school, Ted joined the United States Air Force serving as an aircraft mechanic and leaving active service in 1958.  Ted eventually earned his associates degree from Monmouth College and worked for several years in materials management at Electronic Associates, Inc. (EAI) in Eatontown.  In 1970, he married the love of his life, Barbara C. (nee Bastock), and settled in Manasquan where they raised two boys and spent many happy years.  Ted was a faithful Communicant of St. Denis Parish and a member of the Manasquan Elks Lodge # 2534.

Ted was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and rarely missed an opportunity to watch the Eagles and Phillies on television.  He also enjoyed spending time with friends and neighbors, maintaining his yard and garden, and eating a home cooked meal with his family.

Ted was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara C. Lund in April of 2016 and his parents Theodore W. and Lillie (nee Larsen) Lund.  Surviving are his two devoted sons and their wives; Ted and Kate Lund of Edmonds, WA., and Geoff and Laura Lund of Arlington, VA; along with four cherished grandchildren William, Brady, Madeline, and Abigail Lund.  He is also survived by his brother Thomas and his wife Carol, his brother Richard and his wife Donna, his sister Bernice Anderson, brother-in-law George Torpey, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35. at New Bedford Rd., Wall followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:30am in St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, 90 Union Ave., Manasquan, NJ.  Entombment will be in St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.
