Obituary for Thomas J. Bycsek
Thomas J. Bycsek, 26, of Belmar entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2019. He loved spending time with his best friend and twin brother, Matthew. He was adored by many, most of all his mother, Katie. His maternal grandparents Walter and Mary Bycsek, known fondly as “Pop- Pop” and “Nanny”, helped raise him.
Thomas attended St. Rose Grammar School which strengthened his faith. This strong faith helped him overcome many difficulties throughout his life. Born in Neptune, he was a graduate of Manasquan High School and had resided in Belmar for many years.
Thomas was an all-star baseball player and loved attending games, especially when his mother helped coach. He loved watching the Yankees with “Nanny” and attending games with his family. He was a “big brother” to his many cousins, who adored him.
Thomas always looked forward to his annual family vacation in Vermont, where he enjoyed many activities including fishing, quarry jumping, and visiting waterfalls. He was always entertaining with his great stories around the campfire. He loved animals, especially his dogs, Buddy and Babe.
While his family is heartbroken by his untimely death, they are blessed to know that he touched four local organ recipients with his gift of life, through which his spirit will live on forever.
He is now reunited with many relatives in Heaven including his loving paternal grandmother “Nanny G”.

Surviving is his devoted mother, Kathleen Bycsek and his twin brother Matthew Bycsek of Belmar, his maternal grandparents Walter and Mary Bycsek of Wall Twp., his uncle David Bycsek and wife Damian of Point Pleasant, his 2 aunts Jackie Jepsen and husband George and Mary Jo Kundrats and husband Erik, all of Wall and many younger cousins.
In keeping with his families wishes, a private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Thomas at St. Rose Church, Belmar on Friday, May 31, 2019.
